Applications
Frequently Asked Questions
How many wire rope clips do I need?
General rule: 3 clips for ropes up to 16mm, 4 clips for 19-22mm, 5 clips for 25-32mm. Always follow manufacturer specifications for your specific application.
What is the difference between wire rope clips and wire rope grips?
Wire rope clips (also called bulldog grips) are used to secure the ends of wire ropes. Wire rope grips are similar but often have color-coded saddles for easier identification and may have different designs for specific applications.
How do I install wire rope clips correctly?
Always place the saddle of the clip on the live (long) end of the rope, not on the dead (short) end. The U-bolt goes over the dead end. Torque nuts to manufacturer specifications and re-torque after initial load.
